Simple Air Fryer Side Dishes

Cooking buffs now have another tool in their arsenal when it comes to creating some crunchy, delicious foods for the whole family. Air Fry mode is an appliance upgrade available in some GE ranges that allows you to use less oil without sacrificing taste. Be the talk of the town with these tasty appetizers, made with Air Fry mode in your GE oven. No pre-heating required!

Easy Air Fried Coconut Shrimp

Shrimp lovers, rejoice! In just 15 minutes, recreate this popular side dish for your guests. You can use smaller shrimp in this recipe than what it calls for, but the cooking time may vary.

In just 15 minutes, Air Fried Coconut Shrimp!

What you’ll need

  • 1 lb. extra-large shrimp
    • (About 26-30 shrimp)
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray
  • Sweet chili sauce, for serving, if desired

Cooking Instructions

  • Peel and de-vein the shrimp, but leave the tails attached. Then, combine the flour, salt and pepper in a shallow bowl.
  • Beat the eggs in another bowl. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and coconut.
  • Dip the shrimp into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Then bring them over to the second bowl with the eggs, dipping briefly, before pressing gently into the coconut panko mixture.
  • On a dark-coated, non-stick baking sheet, add a sheet of parchment. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer and coat with oil spray. Do not overcrowd pan.
  • Air Fry at 400°F for 10 minutes, flip, and cook 2 more minutes.
  • Serve immediately with sweet chili sauce, if desired.

Crispy Air Fried Brussels Sprouts

Get the same delightful crunch in this recipe as you would at the restaurant. These easy-to-make Brussels sprouts are great with Aioli sauce!

What you’ll need

  • 1 lb. Brussels Sprouts
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • Freshly ground pepper

For the Lemon Pepper Aioli

  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooking Instructions

  1. Trim the Brussels sprouts and cut in half.
  2. Transfer to a medium bowl. Add 1 tbsp. olive oil and ½ tsp. kosher salt, plus pepper to taste. Toss to combine.
  3. Arrange the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a dark-coated, non-stick baking sheet.
  4. Place pan in the oven and select Air Fry mode. Air Fry at 425°F for 15 minutes, flipping 10 minutes into cooking.
  5. Meanwhile, combine all Lemon Pepper Aioli ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk until creamy.
  6. Once ready, serve Brussels sprouts immediately with sauce.
