Breakfast Made Easy with GE Air Fryers

by BrandSource Canada

Did you know? Some GE ranges and ovens come with air fry mode, a great innovation for healthier meals without the need for pre-heating. That’s right — start cooking immediately in a cold oven, no wait time required. But be careful — if you’re cooking more than one batch, keep an eye on them. The following batches tend to cook faster and might burn.

Other tips include using dark baking sheets and placing your food in the middle of your oven, unless your food is browning too quickly. Then you might need to lower the temperature a bit or move the rack lower. No need to grease the baking sheets either – parchment paper works just fine.

Here are some great recipes you can prepare in a cinch. You can even make breakfast with Air Fry oven mode! It’s easier than you might think. Below are a couple of ideas to inspire you.

Tips and recipes provided by GE Appliances. These recipes were created specifically for GE No Preheat Air Fry Mode. Results may differ on other air fryers.

Air Fryer Breakfast Cinnamon Rolls

Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls…for breakfast!

You’re sure to be the office favourite when you offer this delicious treat. This easy recipe will provide two batches of scrumptious, no-knead cinnamon rolls. You can prepare them up to Step 6 and keep them in the refrigerator for up to two days, or even freeze them in a pan wrapped in plastic. You’ll need to account for about 8 hours for the dough to rise, but it can stay in the refrigerator for up to three days afterwards.

If freezing, be sure to let the dough thaw in the refrigerator the night before you use it, leaving the cinnamon rolls in a warm area for up to an hour before baking.

What you’ll need

For the dough

  • 3 teaspoons instant dried yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 tsp. salt

For the filling

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 ¼ cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 ½ tbsp. ground cinnamon

For the cream cheese icing

  • 4 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • ¼ cup butter (at room temperature)
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the yeast, salt and flour.
  2. Combine the water, honey, milk, and melted butter in a microwave-safe measuring cup. Heat for 30-60 seconds in the microwave until warm.
  3. Quickly whisk in the eggs.
  4. Stir ¾ of the wet mixture into the dry mixture to create a soft dough, mixing with a spoon until there are no dry patches of flour remaining. Add reserved liquid if needed, but not enough to make the dough too wet.
  5. Place plastic wrap over the bowl and let dough rise for 2 hours at cool room temperature. It should triple in size.
  6. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 8 hours or more (preferably overnight).
  7. Divide dough in half and transfer one half to a lightly-floured work surface, rolling into a rectangle approximately 1/4" thick.
  8. Spread half the softened butter onto the dough, leaving a narrow margin around one long edge.
  9. Combine the cinnamon, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Sprinkle dough with half of this mixture.
  10. Starting with a long edge, gently (and loosely) roll the dough into a log. Slice the rolls 2” thick.
  11. Leaving enough room for the rolls to expand, place them in an 8” round baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  12. Cover the pan and allow the rolls to rise roughly 30 minutes to 1 hour, until puffed.
  13. Air Fry at 375° for 20 minutes until deep golden-brown.
  14. In the meantime, beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla together in a large bowl until well-combined.
  15. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool for 15 minutes.
  16. Once cooled, spread half the cream cheese icing over the cinnamon rolls.
  17. For best results, serve immediately!

Simple Homemade Air Fried Pastries

In just 15 minutes, homemade pastries!

What you’ll need

For the pastries

  • Pick your favourite flavour of jam!
    • Or combine multiple different flavours!
  • 2 refrigerated packages of pie crusts
  • 1 egg

For the icing

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp. milk
  • Sprinkles, if desired

Cooking Instructions

  1. Roll out the pie dough to a thickness of ¼ inch, and cut into six 4” x 6” rectangles.
  2. Spread 2 tablespoons of jam on one side of the rectangles, leaving a ½ inch border around the edge of each.
  3. Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water. Using a pastry brush, coat the edges of the dough with the mixture. Place a second rectangle over top and press the edges with a fork to seal the pastry.
  4. In the top of the dough, cut three slits. Brush the top with more egg mixture.
  5. Place pastries on a dark-coated, parchment-lined baking sheet and Air Fry at 350°F for 10 minutes, carefully flipping once halfway through.
  6. While the pastries are cooling on a cooling rack, combine the powdered sugar and milk until you get the desired consistency to create the icing. If desired, add sprinkles after spreading the icing over the pastries.
